Key Responsibilities as a Sanitation Team Member (Dishwasher) at dnata Catering, an aviation catering company, you will play a crucial role in maintaining a clean and hygienic environment in the kitchen and dishwashing areas. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the efficient cleaning and sanitization of dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment, following established procedures and safety guidelines. You will work closely with the culinary team to maintain a constant supply of clean dishes and utensils for food preparation and service. Additionally, you will be responsible for organizing and storing cleaned items appropriately, maintaining cleanliness in the dishwashing area, and assisting with general kitchen cleaning tasks as needed. Your attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high sanitation standards will contribute to dnata Catering's mission of delivering safe and quality food services to the aviation industry.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Follow established rules of entry to building and work areas, properly attired and in compliance with HACCP guidelines for personal hygiene and observe security precautions as mandated by management.
  • Load dishwashing machine with soiled chinaware, trays, glasses, and silverware in appropriate carriers.
  • Ensure that the dishwashing machine is operating at a proper temperature and has detergent and necessary chemicals for proper operation.
  • Unload the machine and place cleaned items in appropriate racks or storage containers in proper storage areas.
  • Sanitize all trolleys, carriers’ oven racks and drawers and deliver to the proper area for storage.

NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Other duties as assigned by unit Supervisors.

 

The salary range for this position is DOE with weekly pay, which represents base pay only and does not include short-term or long-term incentive compensation. When determining base pay, as part of a final compensation package, we consider several factors such as location, experience, qualifications, and training.

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION: Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED with 2+ years’ experience in cleaning/ housekeeping, janitorial, or custodial experience

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Previous dishwashing experience.
  • Excellent attention to detail and self-organized
  • Ability to deal with a heavy workload.
  • Flexibility (different shifts - night, weekends, holidays).
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong prioritization skills and the ability to perform multiple tasks.

 

Intellectual/Social demands:

While performing the essential functions of this job, the employee is continuously asked to multi-task under time limits.  Position requires constant attention to precise details and accuracy of specified standards including following simple to complex (more than 3 steps) instructions, and concentration which frequently extends beyond 30 minutes at a time. This position also requires constant attendance and punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time. Follows instructions, responds to management direction; Takes responsibility for own actions; Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan. Meets productivity standards; Completes work in timely manner; Strives to increase productivity; Works quickly.

 

Physical demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 30 pounds. Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Use equipment and materials properly.

 

Work environment:

The essential functions of this position are performed indoors. The noise level in the work environment can range from minimal to loud.
